How to do ecommerce marketing with YouTube Shorts
The goal of this post is to give you:
– a source of unlimited Amazon reviews
– a reliable way to launch your products from now on
– for about 30 minutes per day of work
So that you have an unfair advantage in the Amazon wars.
(There’s a catch to this, which I’ll explain later)
My recommendation for 2023 is:
Short Form Video.
Specifically YouTube Shorts.
It’s the best social media for selling physical products right now.
Here’s 4 real-life examples for you to take a look at:
– Krak’in – 424k subscribers – it’s a tool to shotgun a beer. They simply try their tool on various beverages and see if it will work. Sometimes it’s fails… they don’t seem to care!
– Conzuri – 44.5k subscribers – they’re shoes that increase your height by 2.5″. They make 60-second “man on the street” videos of people trying their shoes. That’s it. That’s the format.
– The Marshmallow Co. – 979k subscribers – they’re square marshmallows. They show themselves packing orders, cutting up marshmallows, etc.
– Rock Weights – 15k subscribers – these are hollow plastic weights that you can fill up with concrete to make real weights. They fill up their empty molds over and over again! That’s it!
You’ll notice they all have this in common:
– the goal of each of these channels is to sell physical private label products
– they all have 1 format and stick to it!
– they’re all prolific. It’s normal to publish 100s of videos over time
Here’s your full action plan:
(1) Make a YouTube account
(2) Make and post at least 1 short-form video of your product per day
(3) Find a format. You’ll have to test initially to see what resonates. But once you have a formula, don’t change it. People like reliability
(4) Post every day for a year. You’ll need time to find a format and get viral hits. You’ll have 365 videos in that first year. This is the catch from earlier! Guarantee success with significant, sustained effort.
(5) At the end of each video, create a call to action (a contest, a giveaway, a free digital good, etc.) in exchange for an email address. Host your emails in something like MailChimp or ActiveCampaign.
(6) Build your list of potential shoppers over time.
(7) Email your list with a deep discount (via Amazon coupon) whenever you have a new Amazon FBA product launch.
And boom:
An infinite source of Amazon sales and reviews.
And if you roll that snowball for 5 years, you’ll have a resource that less than 1% of Amazon sellers have. And THAT will be your competitive advantage.
Another competitive advantage:
Amazon Advertising.
But not done the normal way.
Done profitably.
My team and I have spent the last 6 years figuring out how to do it. We’ve spent $10s of millions of dollars. And now we’re ready to pass our playbook on to you.
You can now get the LESSONS from spending millions on Amazon Ads, without the pain of spending it yourself.
