Here’s a Sponsored Brand Video ad idea to make more money
Here’s an idea for an Amazon Sponsored Brand Video ad:
A founder-led video that tells the product origin story.
I got the idea when I saw this YouTube ad for “mud water” (written as “MUD/WTR”):

Here’s 4 things that you can adapt for your own video ads:
(1) it’s founder-narrated. Customers want to buy from people; not faceless corporations. Think: Mr. Beast, not P&G. The trends towards influencer marketing and influencer-built brands would suggest as much.
(2) the video follows a basic narrative story arc: “My life was normal until I had this problem. I struggled, I fixed it, and the solution is what became my product. Now, I’m here to share it with you.” Stories are the #1 vehicle for conveying ideas. Whether in nursery rhymes, Biblical parables, or common sayings like “the early bird catches the worm”, humans think in stories.
(3) the best stories have a villain. In this case, the villain is coffee. In this story, coffee is cast as a harmful stimulant that’s making people stressed and jittery.
(4) this ad is clearly for a specific demographic: a Gen Z or millennial creative type who doesn’t want to drink the same morning beverage as their parents. “Free thinkers” looking for a different way. The best products align with identities. This also makes it so that you can charge more. People will pay more for identity + product than they will for product alone.
And as a bonus tactic, the MUD/WTR company leads with a “$40 starter kit”.
I bet this is to increase the initial order value and do a better job covering the cost of paid ads. Very smart. Paid ad economics work better with cart values of $30+.
Video ads can make tons of cash, but can also be a hassle to launch, maintain, and scale.
